Okay, so the 2000 VW Jetta l bought was used, but in good condition. The CD Player that was in the car did not work, so l bought a new..got it installed and it still doesnt work. What could the problem be? The radio in it works but the cd player wont.

If the cd player and radio are integrated as a single unit and the radio works it must be that both cd players are faulty or you are not using them correctly.
Try a cd that you know to be good. If nothing comes up try pressing different buttons until it shows some signs of life. Sorry to be vague about buttons - but try Mode button if there is one. If not just experiment.
