l am going to replace my factory speakers and tweeters with some aftermarket ones as well as my deck. l have picked out these:

My question is do l really need to get an amp? One of my friends told me told and the guy at the shop said to get an amp but l think he is just trying to make a sell. l want it to sound good and loud but not sure if l need the amp. l am not getting subwoofers or anything and the amp l was going to get is the

So once again since with the things l am getting do l really need to get the amp?

Replace everything with the best of the best quality and you will have the best sound and go to a stereo specialist they will help you

No u do not need an amp. everything will work just fine without an amp. the amp will however make ur speakers play louder, & be a little clearer. But u do not need one to hear music.

the reason why an amp would be better is because ur headunit only puts out 22watts of power. ur speakers run on 75 & 45 watts respectively. so they will be underpowered, & they wont be as loud as they could be. this may lead to u turning the volume up & then complaining that the speakers sound like crap when u r feeding them a clipped signal. but if u like the loudness without an amplifier, then do not buy one.

One more thing. l would suggest rethinking that speaker selection. u will have a frequency response of 59hz-20khz in the front & 63hz-20khz in the back. u will be sorely missing quite a bit of bass with these speakers. u wo not have any lows at all. l would suggest speakers that can at least handle a 40hz-20khz frequency. u can get some cheap pioneer speakers that can handle that.

Yes you would need an amp for your aftermarket speakers..Well you DONT NEED IT cause it will still work.buttt without it the speakers are underpowered since the old speakers were getting less wattage. plus it wont sound good.since its underpowered.it will sound muddy and unclear.so get an amp if u want good clear crisp sound..good luck

the amp will make ur speakers play louder & crisper. also dont get those speakers. look into 693.9i infinity kappas series. very good speakers. l have a pair of 5.25 for the fronts & 6x9s for the rear & there very good. the 6x9 offer loads of bass so it replaces ur sub u dont want to buy. look for kappas for ur speaker sizes. even tho l am running both on a 4channel amp u will be very happy with the speakers with, or without the amp. l paid close to 300 for both of the pairs on ebay.
