im thinking about putting in two 12'' subs into my car but so far the only issue is where to put them. The car is a 99' saturn SL1. l do not really know much about air circulation for subs except for it is needed. So as l was saying, im thinking of putting them in the trunk because if im driving alone, the back seats fold down to reveal inside the trunk and it would be perfect because they're in a safe place. Now my question lies on if im driving people and have to fold up the back seats. So im thinking l might cut a large hole through the top of the rear dash and put some black mesh over it. Now my question is, l know the quality would not be as much, but will the speakers have enough free flowing air to them to work safely?

yea they would work but some how you would need to enclose them in like a box drilled to the top of the rear dash or you could leave them attached to the rear dash but they might not sound nearly as good,to get the quality out of the woofers the need to be enclosed,unless the trunk matches the woofers needs.

whoa whoa whoa whoa dude just get a ported box it is a good idea to put da back sea down but u dnt need to cutout nething wen ur frineds sit in the back fold it up its not goin to hurt the subs defintly get a dual box seperate boxers is kinda dumb sorry but it is ur trunk isnt that big in the first place it will sound better if its dual ported/ vented box and cheaper too dont worry ull be fine

u dont have to cut anything u dont even need to port a box l put 2 12in kicker solobarics in my sisters car and the box was made for a 1990 lincon it was a big box we barley fit it in the trunk of her 2000 grand am the only difference was it beat even harder
