ok l put a switch in a while ago and hucked it to the power to turn off and on the amp well it mellted and all most cot on fire ok can l do the same thing but with the ground wire? dose the ground wire have power to it? and will it work to do that anyl need help so my car dont cech on fire. thanks

does your head unit not have a lead for the remote amp wire?

^^^Yea most head units have a wire, typically blue, which only allows your amps/head unit to turn on when the car is turned on.

if your going to hook up a switch for your amp you need to do it on the remote wire hook up. that wire has a low volt and wattage draw. run a wire from your power lead to the switch and from the witchh to the remote terminal. like you would do for a constant wire but the switchh interupts. not that difficult.

From the info provided, l suggest you find someone who knows what they're doing and let them do the wiring or at least show you what to do. You're going to burn your car up at the rate you're going.
